Every single Memorial day, I get conflicted about being incredibly productive or lazy. On one hand, I feel terrible when I waste a holiday doing nothing, and on the other, I should try to maximize every single day. I naturally lean towards the productive side because it feels like a disservice to many of our veterans if I wasted it.

Their sacrifices and bravery shouldn’t be met with sitting on the computer and watching movies all day. But then it hit me, they would want us to enjoy the freedom to do anything.

That’s what they gave their lives for so that we as free Americans can have the right to choose. This powerful freedom is a core value of this country and continues to serve as a reminder of why America is so great.

I’m not going to go on a pro-America campaign because despite the good, there are many things we need to improve as well.

I simply want to honor all of the men and women that have given their life for our country, and the best way to do that is to be thankful for the freedom of choices we have.

This is a reminder to myself that you can choose to bbq on a beach, or sit at home to read. Everyone is different. No matter what any body says, you have that right to choose.

They’ve fought for all of those rights and will continue to do so. I’ll also do my part in being incredibly thankful and to be the best that I can be.
